Northwoods Vacation Activities
Our Northwoods Wisconsin vacation cabins and homes are located within an easy drive of many area activities and sights. Boulder Junction, Presque Isle, Manitowish Waters, and the surrounding communities are your Northwoods destination for snowmobiling, fishing, boating, paddling, hiking, biking, birding and more.
Spring, summer and fall are the perfect seasons for fishing, boating, hiking and paddling. Take your pick of over 1000 area lakes, with clear water, sandy swimming and excellent boat launches. Hikers and paddlers could spend a lifetime exploring the area; and anglers will find excellent fishing year-round. Winter is the time for outdoor play. Snuggled within the Lake Superior Snowbelt, our region often receives ample snow from December on. The area provides a true wilderness snowmobiling and skiing/snowshoeing experience as trails meander through vast, peaceful stretches of pine and hardwood forests.
We are 40 minutes from the Upper Peninsula's waterfall treasures; Lake Superior beaches and Great Lakes' fishing excursions; Porcupine Mountain and Sylvania Wilderness Areas; and from the Midwest’s top skiing and snowboarding destinations. Head in the other direction and we're 30 minutes from Minocqua-Woodruff which offers Lumberjack Shows, Water Ski Shows, and Go-Karts and Putt-Putt. Throughout the region, you'll find a number of quaint gift shops and antique stores, fine and casual dining establishments and pubs, and 9- and 18-hole golf courses.
